Capturing the Value of Sensor Data with the IoT Data Liquidity Pool on Vana
Vana is a protocol for user-owned data. It allows users to pool, tokenize, and monetize their data through Data DAOs. Participants in each DAO can grant access to organizations and researchers, allowing them to train AI models with their data while retaining ownership. When their data is accessed, data providers get paid.
Vana and Oz share a vision of the future where data use is transparent and barrier-free. That's why Oz has launched a data liquidity pool on the Vana protocol - the IoT Sensor Data DAO.
Users of any Sense Agent can opt-in to the IoT Data Liquidity Pool by subscribing it to their existing data feed. Just like any other subscriber, the DLP will receive a copy of the data sourced from each IoT sensor.
Today, the data from these IoT devices is available only to the device owner. Whether it's our smart cameras, thermostats, or lighting, this data is valuable to businesses and researchers but can't be accessed or purchased on any existing marketplace.
By connecting Sense Agents to Vana, we'll enable organizations to train AI models and build analytics with data that is fairly sourced and completely novel.
